Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Research business requirements
   • Define hardware and software requirements of the business solution
   • Determine model of business
   • Determine technical specifications for business
   • Establish interface requirements for end users and external parties
   • Document business solution requirements for approval from stakeholders
   • Determine information and communications technology (ICT) security requirements
2. Analyse the impact of technical solutions
   • Identify hardware, software and network requirements
   • Identify software solutions to build business platform
   • Identify processes to be changed by the business solution
   • Determine the effect changes will have on the value or supply chain
   • Research a range of security protocols suitable for business solutions
   • Document impact of changes and submit to relevant stakeholders
3. Develop and test business solutions
   • Implement hardware and software solutions for testing purposes
   • Identify training needs to update personnel skills
   • Plan timelines and allocation of resources for business solution
   • Develop performance standards and benchmark results
   • Determine costs involved to implement business solution
   • Document the business solution
4. Secure sign-off of validated solution
   • Test, validate and document results of the business solution
   • Provide results to appropriate person for verification
   • Obtain sign-off on business solution

Performance Evidence

Evidence of the ability to:

document the internal and external technical environments required to provide a business solution

produce a list of technical requirements

produce an impact statement of the technical solution

evaluate the functionality of the business solution.
